Are you looking to enrich your dogs life?

Welcome to the dog collective, where every dog is guaranteed a tail-wagging good time! Our services go beyond the typical dog walk or house visit with our fun and engaging enrichment services.

Is your crazy cockapoo bursting with energy and always up for an adventure? Or perhaps you have a beagle, who's nose is always glued to the ground, sniffing out every scent?

Maybe you're the proud owner of a lightning-fast sighthound, yearning for the thrill of the chase? Or is your retriever happiest when they have something to carry in their mouth? Whether they enjoy digging, chasing, herding, swimming or sniffing, we have something for every dog.

The dog collective's comprehensive enrichment services are meticulously tailored to cater to the unique needs and natural behaviours of each individual canine.

Recognizing that dogs are not one-size-fits-all, our specialized services offer a diverse array of enrichment activities and experiences designed to stimulate both the physical and mental well-being of its four-legged clients.

From high-energy herding breeds that thrive on vigorous playtime and herding exercises, to gentle, affectionate companion dogs that relish opportunities for calm, cuddly bonding, the dog collective thoroughly assess each pup's personality, breed traits, and innate drives in order to develop a personalized enrichment program.

Owners can take comfort knowing their beloved pets will receive ample outlets to express their natural inclinations, whether that's a hearty game of fetch for a retriever, scent-work challenges for a hound, or chasing outlets for sighthound breeds. The dog collective's holistic approach ensures each dog's breed-specific needs are thoughtfully addressed, empowering the pups to live their most enriched, fulfilled lives.

natural instincts

We believe in empowering dogs to flourish by offering enriching experiences that cater to their natural instincts and behaviours. Whether they have an inclination to chase, swim, dig, or herd, we are committed to providing a positive and healthy outlet for these behaviors, fostering a more content and self-assured dog.

SCENT WORK

We tap into your dog's innate instincts with engaging and stimulating scent-based activities. By setting up scent trails, concealing toys, and offering small treats for discovery, we transform each sniff into a thrilling quest.

These activities promote exploration, mental engagement, and satisfaction, ensuring a delightful experience for your dog in every session.

INTERACTIVE PLAY

Our team knows how to get tails wagging! We offer a range of interactive play options, from the thrilling chase of a flirt pole to a fun game of tug with a Tug-E-Nuff toy, ensuring your pup gets the exercise and mental stimulation they need.

Each session is designed to keep your dog active, engaged, and having a blast. Not only is it lots of fun but we also work on skills such as impulse control and arousal.

CONFIDENCE BUILDING

Just like humans, dogs thrive in environments that make them feel good. Our structured activities help build their confidence, allowing them to explore, play, and interact positively. Whether they’re navigating a new activity or succeeding in scent work, we create opportunities for growth in a safe and supportive space.

AGE APPROPRIATE ENGAGEMENT

Our enrichment activities are designed for all life stages. Puppies will engage in activities that nurture their developing minds and build confidence, while older dogs can enjoy a gentler pace with scent work and simple body conditioning activities. No matter the age we prioritise the health and happiness of your furry friend.

Some pups thrive in quieter settings, we offer relaxation activities, including calming music, down time to practice settling and relaxation techniques.

At the dog collective we offer enrichment that offers all 5 of these categories, but did you know that they are:

1. SOCIAL ENRICHMENT. Social stimulation is an essential part of dogs' development and daily activities. This includes interacting with other dogs and humans, inside and outside the home, in a way that's comfortable for your dog. Your dog can also gain confidence from calm dogs as they interact with each other.

2. FOOD ENRICHMENT. This can be offered in a variety of forms, from scattering, foraging and licking, using items such as snuffle mats to lickimats and many other enrichment toys.

3. SENSORY ENRICHMENT. Sensory enrichment for dogs is anything that stimulates the 5 senses; sight, sound, taste, touch or smell. Whether it's scent based activities, getting out in new environments or squeaking a toy that they love.

4. OCCUPATIONAL ENRICHMENT. Occupational enrichment provides a combination of both physical and mental stimulation. It could mean giving your dog a task it was bred for, such as herding or retrieving, or offering puzzle toys and doing positive reward training.

5. PHYSICAL ENRICHMENT. Engaging in games such as tug o war or retrieving a favourite toy keeps dogs healthy and active. A favourite of ours is the flirt pole, it's great for dogs who love to chase, plus it keeps dogs fit!

Don't forget! Sleep and rest is just as important, dogs need between 12-18 hours, puppies even more at 18-20 hours.
